Edge of Your Seat Productions Artistic Director Philip McGuinness and Production Manager Emily Frodsham feature in an article by Edge Hill University about founding Edge of Your Seat Productions, their aims for the company and being successful in gaining places on their respective PGCE’s.

Philip and Emily were interviewed by Suzanne Elsworth, on behalf of Edge Hill University, to outline Edge of Your Seat Productions development over the past two years, as part of their Alumni’s progress.

Philip and I wanted to do something to give students, children and upcoming actors the opportunity to perform and gain practical experience, which is the reason we founded Edge of Your Seat.

Drama gives people so much confidence; their personality comes out and they can express themselves creatively. Emily Frodsham – Production Manager

A Very Proud Moment

Edge of Your Seat Productions have been reminiscing about our journey over the past two and a half years and would like to take this moment to share something very special with you.

In May 2012 Artistic Director, Philip McGuinness, was presented with the ‘Best Society Award’ for running Edge Theatre at Edge Hill University. Philip has always been an advocate of helping to provide opportunities to enable people to succeed in the arts.

Receiving the award for Best Society when running Edge Theatre at Edge Hill University was a big achievement in my life. I believe in everyone having the ability to realise their dreams and hopefully we have helped people on their journey. I have very big aspirations and dreams and I know the people that I have had the pleasure of working with do too and if I can help them in any way to move them forward I will do. The award was just the icing on top of a very artistic cake, one that I in no way expected as there are a lot of fantastic societies at Edge Hill University. Philip McGuinness – Artistic Director

Here is to (hopefully) the first of many awards to come. Always keep aiming to Live…Dream…Succeed.

Defibrillator Success

Edge of Your Seat Productions were both delighted and honoured to be apart of a Valentine’s Craft and Family Fun Afternoon at Langham Hall, Ormskirk yesterday. The Craft Fair was organised by Sarah Rimmer and her family to raise enough money to buy a Defibrillator for their Daughter’s Primary School.

Edge of Your Seat Productions invited Alice and The Mad Hatter, all the way from Wonderland, to entertain the Families who visited the event and the Company felt honoured to be apart of such a worthwhile charity event.

The Rimmer family have done something very remarkable creating such an enjoyable event and raising an incredible amount of money for a piece of equipment that can save so many lives. I would like to personally thank the Rimmer family for inviting us to be apart of the experience and for allowing us to be involved in helping the local community, particularly young Children. Emily Frodsham – Production Manager

The Rimmer’s have raised a total of over £800 to date which will be enough to purchase their first Defibrillator for the School. The Rimmer’s have another Craft Event planned for 23rd February 2013 and all of the details about their events can be found at the Facebook address below:

Valentine’s Craft Fair and Family Fun Afternoon

Don’t forget there are only 3 DAYS TO GO until the Valentine’s Craft Fair and Family Fun Afternoon at Langham Hall, Emmanuel Methodist United Reformed Church, Derby Street, Ormskirk, Lancashire, L39 2DE.

The event is being organised by Sarah Rimmer, a local fundraiser from Ormskirk who is aiming to raise £800 to purchase a Defibrillator for her Daughter’s Primary School, based in Ormskirk.

Edge of Your Seat Productions feel passionately about helping and supporting local people and charities within the community and are delighted to be apart of the day.

Defibrillators have the ability to save lives. Every school, supermarket and shopping centre should have Defibrillators and trained members of staff on hand, in case of an emergency. Originally I was training to be a Nurse and I have witnessed accidents that could have been avoided with this piece of apparatus. Defibrillator’s can make a big difference and I feel passionately that it should be something that we all fight for to have in any large public place. We, at Edge of Your Seat Productions, feel passionately about helping this cause and helping to make a big difference in lots of peoples lives, particularly the lives of young Children.

We would love to see you at the Craft Fair and Fun Day, there will be Hook a Duck competitions, Face painting opportunities, refreshments, a range of excellent craft stalls and we are helping to provide entertainment. We know it is going to be a day to remember and most importantly it is all helping towards a genuine and honourable cause. Philip McGuinness – Artistic Director

There are rumours that Alice and The Mad Hatter himself will be there searching for The White Rabbit!

It looks set to be a day that is enjoyable for all!

Don’t be LATE for TEA!
